Travel to the old Portuguese port town of Paraty, one of the more laidback places to visit in Brazil. Explore cobblestone laneways, petite boutiques, art galleries and flourishing courtyard gardens. A boat trip to the nearby islands on Ilha Grande Bay is a relaxing way to spend the day and an excellent chance to splash about in the clear, temperate waters.

For some seriously eye-popping people watching, head down to the white sand beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. And what trip to Rio would be complete without a samba boogie? Yes, the only way to truly experience this city is to try to keep up with it!
