If you have always wanted to travel to the UK and love the interaction that comes with working in pubs, we have a great package for you. You will have a job for you arranged for you in the English Countryside before you arrive into the UK meaning that after your first few days in London you are able to head straight to your pub and start earning. By also having your accommodation and meals included at the pub you will be able to save money to travel and see more of Europe!

You’ll discover a veritable melting pot of beliefs, lifestyles and history from cosmopolitan city life to sleepy rural tranquillity. The perfect destination for both travellers who are just passing through and those who want to stay and find their own niche in local life!

We with the help of our team in the UK we have put together a great Working Holiday package for anyone with experience in the hospitality industry or anyone who simply wants a guaranteed job when they get to the UK. With most of the jobs being in the British countryside you will truly be immersed in good old UK culture.

 

You won’t need to worry about arriving into the UK and having to spend weeks looking for a job as you will have an interview over the phone and know where you will be working before you even set foot on a plane. When you first arrive you will get three nights in a private London hostel to get over your jetlag and maybe see some of London’s famous sights and try some of the diverse local food available. Whilst you’re there our in-country team will help you sort out all the fiddly aspects that need sorting out before you can start work, including a fast track letter to open a bank account as soon as you arrive and assistance with your National Insurance setup

After your three nights in London you will head to your pub to start work, whether it is in a city or the countryside you will be getting a unique view of the local culture. The bonus of going for a live-in job is the amount of money that you can save from you wages due to only having to pay rent of between £30 and £50 a week including food. The positions that you can work at in the pub depend on vacancies at the time of your application and what experience you have, wages can also vary but are generally between £180 - £200 per week plus tips. Positions generally available include:

 

  • Chefs of all levels
  • Waiting staff
  • Bar staff
  • Receptionist
  • For anyone without experience, housekeepers and kitchen porters

Minimum age

Minimum age 19, maximum age 30 (due to working holiday visa restrictions).

 

Accommodation

The start of this great package is that you have three nights hostel dorm accommodation included on arrival. 

 

Part of this package is that you will be guaranteed accommodation at the pub for as little as between £30 and £50 a week which will include all meals even when if you are not working that day! When you take into account how little you are paying for food and accommodation when compared to your earnings (plus tips) you will be able to save money to put towards more travelling. All live-in accommodation includes bedding, TV plus laundry and kitchen facilities.

 

Meals

Meals are not included during your time at the hostel giving you a great opportunity to experience some of London’s multicultural cuisine. Whether you have a small or large budget there will be plenty of great places to eat.

 

Is this trip for you?

Please note this programme is only available to Australian citizens. 

 

To take part in this programme you must have a visa allowing you to work in the UK. If you are between 19 and 30 years of age you can apply for a Youth Mobility Tier 5 Visa. If you are 31 or over you must be able to apply for an ancestral visa or hold an EU passport.

 

You do not need any experience to take part in this programme, however if you do have experience you are more likely to get the placement with higher wages.

 

We require a minimum 3 month’s notice to help you secure the most suitable employment for you. You will be advised of the pub’s location within 4 weeks of your travel date.

 

Orientation and Arrival Service
Once you have arrived into the UK you will need to make your own way to our hostel where you will be able to check-in and relax before having your orientation which is run every Wednesday. During the orientation you will get a UK mobile SIM card with £5 free credit, a ‘Survival Guide’ of all the need to know information and some discount vouchers for top London sites, rides and restaurants.

 

As part of the arrival package you will have help to open a local UK bank account on the same day as arriving. You will be given a fast track letter to take to our local branch and the bank will open your account there and then. If you are going travelling first, then you will only be able to open your account when you get back. Your National Insurance (NI) application and supporting documents can also be done or helped fast track on the same day. Also as part of the package you will receive one free funds transfer into your new account (this is normally quite expensive).

 

Advice & Safety

Throughout your programmes you will have the support and guidance of the programme co-ordinator and team. You will be provided with competent assistance and help with any questions or advice you may need during your stay.

 

You will be assigned a personal travel advisor who will co-ordinate your programme with you. Feel free to contact them at any time before you go, or when you are on your travels.

 

In addition, you will have access to a 24 hour emergency contact number so you can contact one of our UK staff at any time should you need to.
