Turkey has something for everyone. For those who look for adventure and history Turkey has it in spades. You don’t have to be a history buff to know the stories of Alexander the Great and the legend of Achilles and this is the land which has seen all this and more with history that has shaped the world as we know it. Istanbul, while also steeped in history with its aqueducts, churches and mosques and palaces it is also known for its stylish markets and bars that give the city a vibrant atmosphere.
Day 1 Istanbul
Discover hidden charms on a walk through Istanbul's bustling backstreets and watch a sunset over the impressive Sultanahmet skyline. If arriving early, be sure to get lost in the Grand Bazaar, visit the Bosphorus, or take a ferry cruise. Alternatively, venture to Taksim Square to mingle with locals.
Days 2-3 Gallipoli Peninsula
Travel past fields of sunflowers and take in breathtaking views of the Sea of Marmara en route to the Gallipoli Peninsula. Be moved by a battlefield tour of Anzac Cove. Break from this tragic past and snorkel the waters of the Dardanelles, keeping an eye out for a WWI shipwreck.

Day 4 Selcuk
Step back in time on a visit to the historic Roman ruins of Ephesus. Then, stretch the legs on a walk back to the town of Selcuk. On arrival, be sure to indulge in an invigorating scrub at the local hamam it's just the tonic for tired muscles.
Day 5 Fethiye
Visit the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy. Later, enjoy a stroll along Fethiye's harbour watching the traditional gulets bob on the water or grab a cheesy pide and head to the market.

Day 6 Faralya
Hike the ancient trails of the Lycian Way through olive groves and carob gardens, and past incredible relics of ancient civilisations. Visit remote villages and take in stunning vistas of the Mediterranean.
Days 7-9 Kas
Trek along mountain tracks and arrive in Turkey's chilled out Kabak. Exchange hiking boots for paddles on a kayaking adventure over a sunken Byzantine city. Swap to bikes for a cycle through the Kas countryside and ride past rustic villages with top-notch views of the Turquoise Coast. When the sun sets, head to the local market to purchase a handcrafted souvenir or two.

Days 10-11 Pamukkale
Take in the surreal Pamukkale terraces, which resemble frozen waterfalls cascading down the mountain. Then, check out the ancient city of Hierapolis and maybe bathe in its steaming springs.
Day 12 Istanbul
After an overnight journey, the tour of Turkey wraps up back in Istanbul.

The style of accommodation indicated in the day-to-day itinerary is a guideline. On rare occasions, alternative arrangements may need to be made due to the lack of availability of rooms in our usual accommodation. A similar standard of accommodation will be used in these instances.

Breakfast is generally a very simple affair and typically consists of bread, jam, tea / coffee and on occasion tomato, cucumber, and juice (or similar).
While travelling with us you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. On our camping trips we often cook the region's specialities so you don't miss out. To give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, generally not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There's no obligation to do this though.
Throughout your programmes you will have the support and guidance of the programme co-ordinator and team. You will be provided with competent assistance and help with any questions or advice you may need during your stay.
You will be assigned a personal travel advisor who will co-ordinate your programme with you. Feel free to contact them at any time before you go, or when you are on your travels.
In addition, you will have access to a 24 hour emergency contact number so you can contact one of our UK staff at any time should you need to.
