Volunteer Role
During the programme, you will be expected to help for 5-6 hours per day, 5 days a week.
In the mornings, from around 08:00 – 11:00 your focus will be on the kindergarten, which is housed in a room within the site of the pagoda. It will be full of energetic children aged up to 5 years which need entertaining and looking after! This will require lots of enthusiasm and patience. You may choose to play games, try colouring in or teach songs and dances.
Following lunch, around 14:00 onwards, there are a number of activities you may help with, including maintenance of the vegetable and herb garden, feeding babies and general DIY that may need doing on the pagoda site to help the monks. There is also a teaching English initiative programme in progress which can you can assist in developing further.
Foremost, it is best to be flexible and willing to help with any tasks that need doing so that you can get the most out of the programme.
