Programme Details
The focus of this programme is to help improve the conditions of local schools in the province of Surin.
Figures show that Thai schools receive very little from the Thai government which means that the schools tend to rely on parental donations. However families in poor areas do not have the funds to support the school which means they are often in need of restoration work. With over 1000 schools in the province of Surin there is much need for volunteer support and this is where you come in!
The volunteer work that you may get involved with may include the following: painting classrooms and libraries, renovating kitchens, hygiene maintenance such as running water, toilets and washing facilities and building outside teaching facilities, gardens and play areas.
Please note: Individual projects differ each month depending on factors such as number of volunteers, time of year etc.
By the end of your volunteer experience, we hope that you feel a real sense of achievement knowing that you have helped contribute to a variety of resources that will benefit the local children in the future.
