Volunteer Options
There is a choice of volunteer placements on this programme, including:
- Teaching in a local school
- Teaching in a monastery
- Working at an orphanage
- Working at a health post or in a hospital (please note you will need to have medical qualifications or experience to take part in this option)
- Construction
Fun Activities - Included in the cost of the programme is a 3-day, 2-night visit to Chitwan National Park. You can ride an elephant and observe the magnificent local Rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tigers. You will visit a baby elephant centre, a local village, go on adventurous jungle walk and even learn the local dance! We’ll also show you around the main sights in the capital – Kathmandu. We can also help you arrange extra activities such as trekking, rafting and jungle safaris.
Please note: In September/October (19th September - 3rd October in 2009) the Nepalese celebrate the Dashain Festival which is the biggest festival in the country. The second biggest festival is the Tihar festival which is celebrated between the 17th and 19th October (2009) Please be aware that your programme, activities and itinerary may be subject to change at any time but particularly over any public holidays or festivals.
