Volunteer Role
As a volunteer you will spend your days participating in archaeological digs as a member of an official archaeology team. The excavation sites change regularly depending on the most interesting sites at the time.
Your responsibilities would include digging, sifting through the earth and recording and documenting the finds.
There are professors on hand at all times to offer expert insights into the finds, and they are also able to offer advanced tuition and training to those with particular special interests.
Please note: Due to the nature of the programme, duties will involve some physical activities including lifting and digging. This excavation work is very physically demanding, so please speak to a travel adviser if you have any doubts regarding your suitability for this programme.
