Volunteer Role
Your role as a volunteer varies according to your interests and is very flexible to change when you are on the project.
Education
As a volunteer in Guatemala, there are a number of activities and projects that need volunteer assistance; one of the main roles being to help educate and support the children in classes such as mathematics, physical education, handicraft, teaching English computing, teaching the kids to read and write and awareness workshops.
Health Projects
The project is also concerned with the health of the children and families, and helps with dental care and provides vitamins and food. Every day the children get nutritious food and drinks, such as carrot juice, a banana, an orange or a ham sandwich. Each morning and afternoon the children brush their teeth under our guidance and they are provided with vitamin supplements.
What’s Included in the Programme
- Accommodation throughout your programme with a host family
- Two meals a day (except Sundays)
- Airport transfer on arrival from Guatemala City airport
- Transfer back to airport at the end of the programme
- Orientation upon arrival
- Full support and assistance from your co-ordinator throughout your project
- 24 hour support number and contact for emergencies

- All items of a personal nature
- Visas
- Any excursions over and about your planned itinerary
- Any additional food and soft drinks/ alcohol
