Programme Details
Once you have completed your two-week training, you will be placed at a school. We work with schools in the area and with students of all ages from kindergarten age to secondary school. Your main role is to teach conversational English, so you can be fairly creative and have fun doing this. Current volunteers often use songs and games to aid them in their teaching, which is great fun for you and your students! The students are very keen to learn and enjoy having foreign teachers at the school.
To teach in Chinese schools it is a requirement that you must have a medical examination, which will be done by a doctor locally. This will be carried out during the training period.

Professional Responsibilities
Within the school you will be expected to conduct yourself in a professional manner. These details are covered in the training programme. In particular, your dress standard and your professionalism in regard to attendance and duties will be very important in the role.
The key elements to success in the schools are communication, flexibility and patience!
