Programme Details
Our courses will enable you to:
- Transform your personal skiing or riding skills through a high quality and ‘fun’ instructor training programme
- Experience the Ski Big 3 resorts around Banff in the Canadian Rockies (Lake Louise, Sunshine Village & Norquay). Ski Big 3 mountain and bus season passes are optional.
- Enjoy good standard hotel accommodation at the Lodge, or train on a budget and stay at the Chalet in Banff
- Attain the CSIA or CASI Level 1 & Level 2 instructor qualifications
- Have an experience of a lifetime!
You will have approximately 20 hours per week of quality instructor training at Lake Louise provided four days a week from Mondays through to Thursdays. If you would like to ski or snowboard at Sunshine Village & Norquay (the other renowned ski resorts around Banff) you could either upgrade to having Ski Big 3 season passes or stick with your Lake Louise passes and buy day tickets to go there instead. You will be taught in small groups of up to 7 or 8 people per instructor at Lake Louise. Not only will you see a vast improvement in your own technique, you will also be given the tools to become an effective teacher and share your expertise with others. Our courses will provide you with an insight into the service side of the industry, how ski and snowboard schools function, plan lessons, and you will also get to shadow instructors.
You will also have the choice to do ONE of the following freestyle or race courses as part of the programme:
- CSIA Snowpark certification
- CASI Park Instructor
- CSCF Entry Level course
The freestyle programmes allow successful students to teach in the terrain park and these certifications will make you more employable for ski schools. The CSCF coaching course would be available to those who are not interested in freestyle terrain or manoeuvres. These courses are all approximately 3 days in length and can be run during the course. In addition, there are optional add-ons (payable locally in resort) including first aid and avalanche courses.
What’s Included in the Programme

- Lake Louise Season Bus Pass (optional upgrade to Ski Big 3 bus pass to also include Sunshine Village & Norquay)
- Lake Louise Season Lift pass (optional upgrade to Ski Big 3 lift pass to also include Sunshine Village & Norquay)

- Instructor training (approximately 20 hours per week)

- CSIA or CASI Level 2 training (the exam fee is payable locally in resort)

What’s not included in the programme
- Your daily lunches
- Evening meals at the weekends
- Ski/snowboard equipment (although a Helly Hansen jacket is provided)
- The CSIA/CASI Level 2 examination fee (as this is payable locally in Canada)
- First Aid Course (Optional)
- Recreational Avalanche Course (Optional)
- Insurance (although we will supply details of winter sports insurance policy you can take)
- General spending money
