Programme Details
The Youth Outreach programme works together with both locals and foreigners in the attempt to improve children’s rights and eliminate poverty in some of the most vulnerable communities in Argentina, offering assistance in day to day tasks, organizing games and recreational activities, assisting youth with school work, as well as teaching important workshops about self value, gender equality, and youth/children’s rights.
The volunteer organizations are made up of between 3-15 staff members, who have extensive experience in their field as well as working with foreign volunteers.
Volunteer Sectors - Responsibilities
Volunteers will have the opportunity to work in the following areas:
Youth Shelters
Youth Shelters are in search of volunteers who can provide the local youth with health and safety advice, and offer education in basic health issues such as nutrition, hygiene, and common illness, as well as organize activities and games at the shelter and assisting with daily meals. This volunteer work is for those who feel confident working with underprivileged youth in a safe but sometimes intense and challenging environment.
Child Care
Volunteers may spend time at local shelters with at-risk children assisting in daily activities as well as organizing special educational activities in order to provide the children with daily basic needs, basic education, and a safe and secure environment.
Day Care Centre
Volunteers are needed to look after and care for 130 children between the ages of 6 months and four years old, participating in various activities, sharing daily meals at the day care and providing a safe environment during the day.
HIV Centre for Children
Volunteers are needed to aid and assist children infected with HIV between the ages of 6 months and 11 years, and 12 years and 16 years. Activities include walking to the park, doing homework, teaching English, or participating in recreational activities.
