Your Programme
Our school offers a safe and sociable atmosphere for you to learn Spanish and experience real Argentinean life. You will live with a local family (with other travellers if you prefer) and take four hours of Spanish classes each weekday morning in our gorgeous Baroque building equipped with well-lit classrooms, outdoor patios and free Internet access.
The rest of the day is free for making the most of your time in Buenos Aires with other travellers. Whether you prefer to take part in polo, football matches, tango classes or seeing the sights, there is always something going on. There will be a notice board at the school detailing scheduled activities.
Our co-ordinators are on hand to offer any advice, make arrangements and show you the best that Buenos Aires has to offer. Just ask if you have any questions or would like to organise extra activities, trips or excursions.
The school is located in the centre of the city close to the Avenida de Julio, the widest street in the world. It is also close to the Obelisk, one of the key landmarks in Buenos Aires. You will be taken to the school on your first day by your host family, maps of the city are available at the language school.
Workshops
We have several workshops available each week, which compliment the language classes to improve your Spanish and give a real insight into Argentinean culture. Workshops include...
Tango classes
As the most famous creative expression of Buenos Aires, we offer a wide range of tango classes for first-time dancers to experts; all skill levels are welcome. Through formal instruction and dance floor practice, instructors cover both traditional steps and the latest improvisational techniques.
Photography classes
This workshop will give you with hands-on technical photography experience, while familiarising you with theoretical background of photography. Examine the creation of photographic art, study of composition, development, scripting, camera operation and post-production. You create an independent project of your choice in order to practically explore each of these themes.
Wine tasting
Titillate your taste buds and enjoy a professional wine tasting course. During this workshop you will sample some of the finest wines Argentina has to offer. You will be an expert (or just drunk) in no time.
Polo Experience
A full day at an estancia (traditional Argentinean ranch), the workshop includes polo classes in the morning and afternoon, a large asado (BBQ) for lunch, and horseback riding or watching a polo game in the evening.
There is an option to stay one night at the estancia, this includes a night's lodging and an extra dinner and breakfast the following day.
Fileteado painting
Fileteado porteño is a popular and decorative art unique to Buenos Aires. Its stylised forms of intense colour are painted to appear three-dimensional using shadowing techniques. Flowers, ribbons, acanthus leaves, dragons and birds are typical elements of the Fileteado repertoire, combined with phrases and images of popular characters.
