Tour Details
We leave Anchorage following the Chugach Mountains heading north. We pass the massive Mantanuska Glacier on our way to the Wrangell Mountains. Take time out to explore this vast wilderness before we cross the Alaska Mountains. Here we will cross Alaska’s oil Pipeline and spend a night camping in the Tangle Lakes before arriving into Denali National Park.
Denali is a beautiful place that is home to the tallest peak in America, Mt McKinley. Two included scenic bus tours are designed to give you the best sightseeing opportunities around. Endless scenic views and hiking opportunities will help you see the park up close and personal. This pristine landscape is teaming with animal residents including the caribou, moose, fox and grizzly bear. The Athabascan Indians know McKinley as “ The Great One” an apt description.
We pause in Anchorage to see some sights and take in the nightlife of the largest city in Alaska.
Next we will take the coastal road along the Turnagain Arm of Cook’s Inlet where we have a chance to view the magical ice blue lake of Portage and its uniquely sculpted icebergs. From Portage Lake we continue down the Kenai Peninsula to Seward, the entrance to Kenai Fjords National Park.
Hike to the base of the Exit Glacier or to the vast Harding Icefields. Alternatively try boating along the spectacular coastline in the search for marine life such as killer whales and calving icebergs.
In the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge canoeing is highly recommended to get the closest view possible to the native bald eagles and moose.
Leaving the national parks we head for the tip of the Peninsula and Homer. Here we catch our boat to our luxury wilderness camp that overlooks the Kachemak Bay and Kenai Mountains. Indulge in true adventure with mountain biking, sea kayaking or simply enjoy the local dishes including our very own authentic salmon bake.
After our adventure we head back to Homer with its snow crested summits to relax and enjoy the quiet streets and once isolated village at the "End of the Road". Spend your energy hiking and beachcombing before enjoying some fresh caught halibut native to these waters.
To end our tour, we pass the old Russian settlements of Ninilchik and Kenai on our return to Anchorage.
